I specialize in working with people and couples with mixed backgrounds (bi and multi-cultural/ethnic/racial) and other types of complex identity formation (religion/spirituality, LGBTQ+, SES). In addition, I have specialties in developmental and relational trauma, helping professionals (therapists, teachers, medical practitioners, pastors), and men’s issues. As a therapist, I believe reducing your symptoms is just the first step. I invite you into a collaborative process where we will reduce your current symptoms (make you feel better) while together making meaning of your story so you can thrive. We will discover your strengths and joys as well as growing edges and pain. This will lead to a greater sense of being alive and an ability to be more resilient to life’s ups and downs.
One of my goals as a person and psychologist is to do the work of living and making meaning of my own life and story so that I can offer authentic and healing relational space to my clients. Life is complex, painful, beautiful, and everything in between. My hope is that we can all be able to increasingly embrace life’s fullness with honesty, resiliency, and compassion.
